“Which revision of the staircase construction drawing applies to the Feldgasse residential complex?”

How the connection works
You grant permission via Egnyte itself: you sign in with your Egnyte account and choose the folders to be read – usually the shared project folders. Access is read-only and limited to your selection; nothing in Egnyte is changed. Depending on your plan and your account’s rights, an administrator consents to this once.
Once set up, synchronisation runs automatically: new and changed documents from Egnyte are added without anyone having to upload anything.
Set-upOne click, included in the set-up: you connect via your Egnyte account, subject to admin consent in your account. We discuss in advance which project folders are read and whether completed projects are included – ideally together with the person who manages Egnyte at your company.
Documents
Typical content: Egnyte
- Project folders with a fixed structure per building project – planning submission, detailed design, tendering, site management, final account
- Plans as PDFs in several revisions side by side, with the revision index in the file name
- Bills of quantities, quotes from trade contractors and bid comparisons
- Site diaries, site meeting minutes and defect lists
- Official notices, submission documents and statements from authorities and experts
- Site photos uploaded from the phone to the project folder

Start
Before a connection is set up
You connect it in one click via your account, and it is included in the set-up, subject to admin consent in your account. Together we agree which folders and areas to include.
You can also upload files, whole folders, emails, photos and voice notes at any time. In the demo you see the answers using sample documents from your industry; you check them against your own documents in the first weeks after go-live.
Preliminary check
What we check in advance
We read files that contain readable text: PDF, Office files, scans. We discuss whether content from CAD files is needed or the PDF version of the plans is enough. Before we start, we check whether Egnyte runs purely online at your company or whether folders are also synced with local storage – in that case we look at which side holds the authoritative version. Personal folders of individual accounts are only included if you explicitly want that. junova reads the current version of a file; we check whether earlier versions from the version history are needed.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about this connection
We have plans in many revisions side by side. Will the system find the right one?
The answer names the file, folder and date of the source, so it remains clear which plan revision it relies on. If the index is in the file name or the title block, it is kept as an attribute. Which revision is approved is still decided by your office – if several revisions sit side by side without any marking, the answer shows that. In the first weeks after go-live, we go through real questions with you to see how this looks with your project folders.
Are completed projects included too?
Yes, for the folders you select – older projects in particular are often the source of details needed again on the next job. It makes sense to keep completed projects recognisable, for example via a separate folder or the year in the folder name; the answer then states which project the source comes from. We discuss the scope before we start.
Will subcontractors or clients then see any of this?
No. junova reads through your account, read-only; whatever you have shared externally in Egnyte stays as it is. You define who gets which answers in junova, using document types and roles. We discuss before we start which roles your office needs.
Not everyone in the office should see the cost calculation. How can that be separated?
Via document types and roles in junova: plans, minutes and bills of quantities for the project team; calculations, fees and assessments of variations only for certain roles – regardless of which folder the file is in. The folder permissions in Egnyte are not copied one to one and remain untouched. A person confirms in the first run whether a PDF counts as a plan or a calculation.
