Connection

How the connection works

We check before we start whether and how Streit can be connected – in particular whether your documents exist as files or need an export, which depends on the version and what your licence covers. junova mirrors the directory where Streit keeps your documents to your own instance, encrypted, read-only and over outbound connections only. Customer, property and installation master data can be added through an export, so that questions can be matched to the right property and installation.

Once set up, synchronisation runs automatically: new and changed documents from Streit are added without anyone having to upload anything.

Set-upOnce the feasibility check is done, we estimate what the set-up involves and agree it with you before anything is set up – with your Streit support partner, if you like. The set-up is charged on a time-and-materials basis, agreed in advance.

Documents

Typical content: Streit

  • Everything the digital archive files by itself: documents, emails and transactions, already sorted by customer, supplier or project
  • Quotes and costings from your service and item catalogues, with the Datanorm prices (the standard price-data format used by wholesalers) behind them
  • Technician reports from the app: what was replaced, what was adjusted and what was charged as time and materials, signed by the customer
  • Purchase orders, order confirmations and delivery notes that arrive through the wholesaler interfaces
  • Test and commissioning reports: leak and pressure tests, flushing reports, balancing, handover to the customer
  • Manufacturer documents and error code lists for the appliances you have installed, if you file them with the job

Start

Before a connection is set up

This connection is set up for you rather than switched on in one click. Every source has its own logins, permissions and folder structure – so before we start, we check with you whether and how it can be connected at your company. Set-up and maintenance are charged on a time-and-materials basis, agreed in advance; the amount depends on the source.

You can also upload files, whole folders, emails, photos and voice notes at any time. In the demo you see the answers using sample documents from your industry; you check them against your own documents in the first weeks after go-live.

Preliminary check

What we check in advance

In Streit, the digital archive is closely tied into the program. So before we start, we check whether your documents sit as files in a directory that can be mirrored, or whether an export is needed – that depends on the version and what your licence covers. Installation master data, maintenance intervals and appliance history are records, not documents; we decide together what the export should include. The knowledge base then shows the state at the last sync, not a live query – an entry made a moment ago appears in Streit first.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about this connection

We have twelve years of service reports in the archive. Is that too much?

Volume matters less than repetition: twelve years of reports on the same boiler look very much alike. That’s why the date counts – it is read from the report itself, and the answer says which call-out it comes from. Scanned reports go through text recognition (OCR); how well that works on faded copies or handwriting only becomes clear with your actual documents. If two reports contradict each other because something different was measured on the second visit, the answer names both rather than quietly picking one.

Our archive already files everything under the customer automatically. Do we need our own folder system at all?

No – the system uses your existing structure rather than adding a second one alongside it. Because documents in Streit are linked to a customer, supplier or project, that link comes across when they are read in; we check beforehand how far this goes with your version. What still has to be set is the document type – service report, quote, delivery note, test report – because it decides who can see what. Someone from your company confirms it during the first run.

Our prices come from the wholesaler via Datanorm and change constantly. Does that make an answer from an old quote wrong?

It reflects the prices on the day the quote was written – which is why the answer gives the date and source. It isn’t a check on today’s prices; that’s what the catalogue in Streit is for. In day-to-day work, the question is usually a different one anyway: which appliance did we install there, with which accessories, and what did we charge for it at the time? You decide how much of that still applies to the new quote.

The technician should see the system documentation, but not what we earn on the job. Is that possible?

Yes, through document types rather than individual files. Manufacturer documents, service reports and test reports can be made visible to the technicians, while costings, purchase prices and post-job costings are tied to a role that stays in the office. If someone lacks permission, the system tells them so rather than dodging the question. When a new technician joins, they are given the role – nothing changes in the files.
