Knowledge base for garages and vehicle repair when you need your own history for a vehicle, not just the manufacturer data.

Job history, inspection reports, manufacturer documentation and whatever was spotted at the last repair, in one place, every answer with its source. The demo runs on sample documents from a garage; in the first weeks after go-live you find out how well it works with your own photos, reports and notes.

Day to day

Sound familiar?

  • What did we do on Meier’s Golf in 2022?

  • The manufacturer database knows the car, but not what we’ve done on it.

  • The master mechanic knows which fault is typical for this model. It isn’t written down anywhere.

Friday, half past ten, and Meier is standing by the lift. His Golf is making that noise at the rear left again, and he says you had the same problem last year. Werbas has the invoice from back then with three line items; what the mechanic saw at the time isn’t recorded anywhere. The photos of the damage were taken on the phone of a colleague who has since moved on. The independent assessor’s report is a scan in an email thread. And because the car had its roadworthiness inspection under § 57a of the Austrian Motor Vehicles Act (the “Pickerl”) in April, Meier wants to know whether the problem was already noticed then. The service adviser searches while the customer waits beside him, then promises to ring back in the afternoon. He did ring back – to say that nothing had been found.

Basic package

from€500per month

Set-up fee €2,900 · excl. VAT

A flat fee per company. Everyone at your company can use it – technicians as much as office staff – with no per-user licence. One-click connections are included in the set-up. Before we start, we check whether your industry-specific software can be connected; that connection is charged on a time-and-materials basis, agreed in advance.

Drafts as Word, PDF or email are included in the Premium package.

At the kick-off we agree on twenty questions together – along with the documents each answer should come from. At sign-off we go through them together and look at what the system does with them. What follows from that is set out in the quotation.

Getting started

Where to start

Start with what isn’t in Werbas: photos of the damage, the reports from the periodic roadworthiness inspections, the mechanics’ voice notes on the models you see most often on your lifts, plus the correspondence on recalls and goodwill cases. What people ask at the lift is rarely on the invoice – it’s more likely in a photo, a report or someone’s head. In the first weeks after go-live, pick a few vehicles whose history you know and ask about them. Before we start, we check whether Werbas can be connected so that number plate and VIN work across both; until then you upload files yourself, including whole folders and email attachments.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

We are an authorised inspection centre under § 57a of the Austrian Motor Vehicles Act (KFG). Does this replace keeping the inspection reports?

No. The duplicate of the report must be kept for five years and shown to the motor vehicle authorities on request; keeping it on a data medium is permitted as long as, until the period ends, it can be reproduced at any time with identical content, complete, in order and true to the original. Your existing process remains responsible for that, and nothing about it changes. The knowledge base adds the reports alongside your own job history, the photos and what the mechanic said about the car. In the first weeks after go-live, try it with a regular customer to see whether what was flagged the year before shows up at the next appointment.

A used-car buyer has made a complaint. What do we have to go on?

You can ask about what you documented: the purchase contract with the shortened warranty period, the handover record, photos of the car’s condition at handover, correspondence – the answer gives the date and the source. With cars in particular, a lot depends on two dates: shortening the period to one year only takes effect if it was individually negotiated and more than one year has passed since the car was first registered. Both dates are in your documents and can be looked up side by side. Whether the shortening was validly agreed in a particular case is not something the system assesses; that’s what your legal adviser is for.

The job history is already in Werbas. So why do we need this?

Werbas knows which items were billed. What could be seen in the photos of the damage, what the mechanic said in a voice note, what the independent assessor’s report says and what the same customer complained about two years ago are usually not in there – and those are the documents this is about. Before we start, we check whether and how Werbas can be connected; access is read-only – nothing is written back, no job is created and no line item is changed. We don’t connect manufacturer portals, but anything you save from them as a PDF can go in and is cited as a source.

The importer has announced a recall. Which of our vehicles are affected?

If the recall information is in the knowledge base and the vehicle and job data from Werbas are connected, you can ask by model series, year of manufacture and period; for each vehicle, the answer shows why it is on the list. How complete the list is depends on the data – check that in the first weeks after go-live with a recall where you know which vehicles were affected. If the system finds nothing for a vehicle, it tells you so. It can draft the letters to customers; you decide who gets them and when they go out.
