Search Microsoft Teams channel and chat files in your AI knowledge base.
The files your team shares in channels and chats – plans, minutes, quotes, photos – come into the knowledge base – straight from where day-to-day work happens. The document libraries behind them are covered on the SharePoint and Teams page; access is read-only.

“Which schedule did the site manager last upload in the channel for the Bahnhofstraße 12 property?”

How the connection works
The connection uses Microsoft’s official permission flow: you sign in with your Microsoft account and choose the teams and channels whose files are to be read – read-only and only the selected areas; nothing in Teams is changed and nothing is posted. Technically, files from channels are stored in SharePoint, and files from chats in the OneDrive of the person who shared them; this may require broader read permissions, to which an administrator consents once.
Once set up, synchronisation runs automatically: new and changed documents from Microsoft Teams are added without anyone having to upload anything.
Set-upOne click, included in the set-up: you connect via your Microsoft account, subject to admin consent in your account. We discuss in advance which teams, channels and chats are read – ideally together with your Microsoft administrator. We look at private and shared channels with their own membership separately.
Documents
Typical content: Microsoft Teams
- The “Files” tab in every channel: this is where whatever someone dragged into the conversation ends up – the plan, the photo, the signed order confirmation
- Files from one-to-one and group chats that never made it into any filing, such as the cost estimate a colleague quickly forwarded
- Private channels for management, payroll or individual mandates, with their own membership
- Shared channels used for joint work with partner companies, planners or property managers
- Meeting materials: the presentation from the Teams meeting, the notes afterwards, the minutes in the channel
- OneNote notebooks and tabs attached to a channel – processes, checklists, responsibilities

Start
Before a connection is set up
You connect it in one click via your account, and it is included in the set-up, subject to admin consent in your account. Together we agree which folders and areas to include.
You can also upload files, whole folders, emails, photos and voice notes at any time. In the demo you see the answers using sample documents from your industry; you check them against your own documents in the first weeks after go-live.
Preliminary check
What we check in advance
We read the files from channels and chats; we discuss whether the text of the conversations themselves is needed – it is not a document, and chats often contain personal matters. Before we start, we clarify how files in individual people’s OneDrive are handled, who needs to consent and what applies when someone leaves the company. For channels shared with other organisations, we look at where the files are stored and whether they may be read. We also check whether sensitivity labels with encryption are in use; such files can only be opened with the matching permission.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about this connection
Half our coordination happens in chats. Do the files from there come along?
Yes, if you approve them and this has been agreed within your company. Technically, chat files are stored in the OneDrive of the person who shared them, not in shared storage. This usually requires an administrator’s consent and a clear agreement on whose files are included; we go through that with you before we start.
How does this differ from the SharePoint and Teams page?
The SharePoint and Teams page starts from the filing: document libraries, sites, lists. This page is about Teams as a place of work – the files that go back and forth in channels and chats every day and often never get filed. Both run via your Microsoft account. Before we start, we agree with you which parts you want to connect.
We add new channels all the time. Do we have to tell you about each one?
The selection refers to the teams and channels defined during set-up; new and changed files within them come in automatically via the sync. A new team or a new private channel is not necessarily covered by the existing selection. We discuss during set-up whether new channels of a selected team should be included automatically.
There are payslips in the management channel. Will everyone see them?
No. Permissions in junova depend on document types and roles, not on membership of a channel. Payroll records, contracts or HR matters can thus be reserved for a smaller group, even if they have ended up in a general channel. If a channel should not be read at all, you simply do not select it. Your memberships and sharing settings in Teams remain untouched; before we start, we agree with you which roles you need.
