Documents from QOMET ask questions of your project files and get the source.
Drawings, test certificates, correspondence and invoices from QOMET go into your knowledge base, with nothing to maintain twice. QOMET itself stays exactly as it is.
QOMET
subject to a feasibility check · folderExample question
“Which standard applies to the material in order 2024-118?”
1 Answer with sourceConnection
How the connection works
We check before we start whether and how QOMET can be connected – that depends on the version, where files are stored and what your licence covers. junova mirrors the directory where QOMET keeps your documents to your own instance, encrypted, read-only and over outbound connections only. Anything you delete in QOMET disappears there too. Customers, projects and the material master can be added through an export.
Once set up, synchronisation runs automatically: new and changed documents from QOMET are added without anyone having to upload anything.
Set-upOnce the feasibility check is done, we estimate the effort and agree it with you before anything is set up – with your QOMET support partner, if you like. The set-up is charged on a time-and-materials basis, agreed in advance.
Documents
Typical content: QOMET
- Quotes together with the costings behind them – line items, material share, labour minutes and the mark-ups you calculated with
- Post-job costings: what the order actually cost, compared with the quote
- Workshop drawings and detail drawings with their revision status, plus the bill of materials for the assembly
- Acceptance documents for the component: inspection certificates 3.1 to EN 10204, welding procedure specifications, welder qualification certificates and the declaration of performance to EN 1090-1
- Installation and time-and-materials reports from site, often arriving as a photo or scan, along with the timesheets that go with them
- Manufacturer documents for drives, fittings and locks – the installation, adjustment and maintenance instructions people go looking for when something breaks

Start
Before a connection is set up
This connection is set up for you rather than switched on in one click. Every source has its own logins, permissions and folder structure – so before we start, we check with you whether and how it can be connected at your company. Set-up and maintenance are charged on a time-and-materials basis, agreed in advance; the amount depends on the source.
You can also upload files, whole folders, emails, photos and voice notes at any time. In the demo you see the answers using sample documents from your industry; you check them against your own documents in the first weeks after go-live.
Preliminary check
What we check in advance
Before we start, we look at what you keep in QOMET as files and what exists only as records – costing lines, booked hours, the material master. Records come in through the export and show the state at the last sync, not a live query: hours booked to an order this morning are still only in QOMET. For drawings, we check how much text they contain – title block, item numbers, dimensions, bill of materials; old scanned drawings go through text recognition (OCR). We also check together whether everything really is in the document directory or whether some site records live elsewhere, on a colleague’s phone for instance – you can simply upload those.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about this connection
Do orders from before QOMET come across too? They’re still in the old folder.
Yes: the old folder can be connected in the same way as the QOMET directory, or you can upload it – whole folder trees at once, if need be. As documents are read in, the system picks out the customer, project and date by itself; the document type is confirmed by someone on your side during the first run, because it decides who sees the document later. The old costings are often the most useful part, for example when a customer wants the same railing again years later. The demo shows this with sample documents from your industry; you’ll test it with your own old documents in the first weeks after go-live.
Our folders are named by order number, not by customer. Will the system still find anything?
The search works on content, not file names. The order number is actually a useful key: from the customer and project export, the system knows which numbers belong to which customer and which site. So a question about a customer reaches their orders, and the answer gives the source, including the number, so you can check it. Nothing is renamed – your structure stays the way it has grown.
Will every apprentice be able to see the costings?
That’s up to you. Permissions are tied to document types and roles, not to individual files: drawings, bills of materials and manufacturer documents for the workshop, say, and costings, post-job costings and contribution margins for the master craftsmen. You can also set a cut-off date, so that the apprentice workshop only sees documents from the current year onwards. If someone lacks permission, the system tells them so rather than giving an answer with the figure quietly left out.
Our drawings are PDFs exported from CAD. What can actually be read from them?
Whatever is in them as text: the title block with order and drawing number, revision status, material, item numbers and the bill of materials in the corner. That means a drawing can be found by its content, not just its file name, and the answer gives the file and sheet as the source. Old scanned drawings go through text recognition (OCR) as they are read in – how well that works on faded copies only becomes clear with your actual documents. The geometry itself is not in the text: a dimension can only be read where it is actually dimensioned.
