Documents from TaxMetall orders, costings and drawings.
The documents TaxMetall keeps on your server go into your knowledge base – costings, orders, drawings and correspondence. TaxMetall itself stays exactly as it is.

“What assumptions went into the costing for this order?”

How the connection works
We check before we start whether and how TaxMetall can be connected – that depends on the version, where files are stored and what your licence covers. junova mirrors the document directory on your server to your own instance, encrypted, read-only and over outbound connections only. Customer and project master data can be added through an export, so that answers can be matched to the right customer and order.
Once set up, synchronisation runs automatically: new and changed documents from TaxMetall are added without anyone having to upload anything.
Set-upOnce the feasibility check is done, we estimate the effort and agree it with you before anything is set up – with your TaxMetall support partner, if you like. The set-up is charged on a time-and-materials basis, agreed in advance.
Documents
Typical content: TaxMetall
- Production orders with routing and bill of materials – which operation in which order, on which machine, with which standard time
- Customer drawings and production documents attached to the item in TaxDMS, with index and revision status
- Pre-calculations and post-job costings for the order, once the shop-floor data has been booked
- Inspection plans, measurement reports and first article inspection reports from quality management
- Complaints and the reports on them: what the customer objected to, what action was taken and who approved it
- Purchase orders, supplier order confirmations and the certificates that arrive with the material at goods receipt

Start
Before a connection is set up
This connection is set up for you rather than switched on in one click. Every source has its own logins, permissions and folder structure – so before we start, we check with you whether and how it can be connected at your company. Set-up and maintenance are charged on a time-and-materials basis, agreed in advance; the amount depends on the source.
You can also upload files, whole folders, emails, photos and voice notes at any time. In the demo you see the answers using sample documents from your industry; you check them against your own documents in the first weeks after go-live.
Preliminary check
What we check in advance
TaxMetall is a manufacturing ERP, and much of what it knows sits in records rather than files: operations, shop-floor data, stock movements. Before we start, we look at which of these should come across through the export; in the knowledge base they show the state at the last sync, not a live query – this afternoon’s machine schedule is still only in TaxMetall. We also clarify where TaxDMS stores files in your set-up and whether your licence includes the DMS module, because that decides which directory is mirrored. NC programs and CAM data are written for machines, not people; we discuss with you whether any of it belongs in the knowledge base.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about this connection
Our hours are booked through shop-floor data collection. Will the knowledge base know how long an order took?
Only if it is in a document. Once the booked hours have gone into a post-job costing, that costing is in the knowledge base as a document, and the answer gives its source and date. Today’s order, with hours booked this morning, stays in TaxMetall – and nothing is ever written back there. If you want to know why an assembly ran over budget last year, you’ll find the post-job costing alongside the routing, the complaint and the inspection report.
Our drawings are attached to the item in TaxDMS, not kept in a customer folder. How does that all fit together?
Through the master data export: it tells the system which item belongs to which order and which customer the order belongs to. So a question about a customer leads to the drawing attached to the item, even if nobody knows the item number by heart. If several index levels exist side by side, the answer says which one it comes from rather than mixing them up. Blocked versions that may no longer be produced can be given their own document type and are then hidden from production. We check beforehand whether your export provides these links.
We’re about to make a major version jump in TaxMetall. Will we have to set up the integration again?
Usually not, as long as the storage path and the structure of the export stay the same. If both change with the new version, the sync will show it – for example when no new files arrive or the export columns no longer match – and we’ll get in touch. Any adjustments are charged on a time-and-materials basis, agreed in advance. Tell us the changeover date beforehand, and we’ll check the first sync afterwards with your support partner.
We’ve signed non-disclosure agreements covering customer drawings. How do we keep them separate?
With a separate document type for each client. That customer’s drawings are then visible only to the roles that work on them – work preparation and production, for instance, but not purchasing or the warehouse. If someone lacks permission, the system tells them so rather than giving a shortened answer that hints at what is missing. The documents are stored in your own instance on servers in Germany, the language model runs in an EU data centre, and no model is trained on your data. Whether that meets your agreements is best checked against their wording.
