The plan is to grant permission via Egnyte itself: you sign in with your Egnyte account and choose the folders to be read — usually the shared project folders. Access is read-only and limited to your selection; nothing in Egnyte is changed. Whether your plan and your account’s rights allow this, or whether an administrator needs to consent, we check with you in advance.

Once set up, synchronisation runs automatically: new and changed documents from Egnyte are added by themselves, without anyone having to upload anything.

Until then, and independently of it, you can upload files, whole folders, emails, photos and voice memos. Before we start, we go through real questions with you to see how the answers look.

The plan is files with readable text: PDF, Office files, scans. Whether content from CAD files is needed or the PDF version of the plans is enough, we discuss. In advance, we clarify whether Egnyte runs purely online for you or whether folders are also synced with on-premises storage — in that case we look at which side holds the authoritative version. Personal folders of individual accounts are only included if you explicitly want that. The plan is the current version of a file; whether earlier versions from the version history are needed, we clarify.
