Search Microsoft Teamschannel and chat files in your AI knowledge base.
The plan is that the files your team shares in channels and chats — plans, minutes, quotes, photos — come into the data set, in other words where day-to-day work actually happens. The document libraries behind them are covered on the SharePoint and Teams page; the plan is read-only access.

“Which schedule did the site manager last upload in the channel for the Bahnhofstraße 12 property?”

How the connection is designed
The plan is Microsoft’s official permission flow: you sign in with your Microsoft account and choose the teams and channels whose files are to be read — read-only and only the selected areas; nothing in Teams is changed and nothing is posted. Technically, files from channels are stored in SharePoint, and files from chats in the OneDrive of the person who shared them; this may require broader read permissions. Whether your licence allows this and whether an administrator needs to consent, we check with you in advance.
Once set up, synchronisation runs automatically: new and changed documents from Microsoft Teams are added by themselves, without anyone having to upload anything.
Set-upThe connection is made with a click via your Microsoft account and is included in the setup. Which teams, channels and chats are read, we discuss in advance — ideally together with your Microsoft administrator. Private and shared channels with their own membership we look at separately.
Documents
Which documents may be stored in Microsoft Teams
- The “Files” tab in every channel: this is where whatever someone dragged into the conversation ends up — the plan, the photo, the signed order confirmation
- Files from one-to-one and group chats that never made it into any filing, such as the cost estimate a colleague quickly forwarded
- Private channels for management, payroll or individual mandates, with their own membership
- Shared channels used for joint work with partner companies, planners or property managers
- Meeting materials: the presentation from the Teams meeting, the notes afterwards, the minutes in the channel
- OneNote notebooks and tabs attached to a channel — processes, checklists, responsibilities

Start
Before a connection is set up
The connection is made in one click via the account and is included in the setup. Every source comes with its own logins, permissions and folder logic — we check the prerequisites at your company together beforehand.
Until then, and independently of it, you can upload files, whole folders, emails, photos and voice memos. Before we start, we go through real questions with you to see how the answers look.
Preliminary check
What we check in advance
The plan is the files from channels and chats; whether the text of the conversations themselves is needed, we discuss — it is not a document, and chats often contain personal matters. In advance, we clarify how files in individual people’s OneDrive are handled, who needs to consent and what applies when someone leaves the company. For channels shared with other organisations, we look at where the files are stored and whether they may be read. We also check whether sensitivity labels with encryption are in use; such files can only be opened with the matching permission.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about this connection
Half our coordination happens in chats. Do the files from there come along?
That is the plan, if you release it and it has been agreed within your company. Technically, chat files are stored in the OneDrive of the person who shared them, not in shared storage. This usually requires an administrator’s consent and a clear agreement on whose files are included. Whether and how that works for you, we check before we start.
How does this differ from the SharePoint and Teams page?
The SharePoint and Teams page starts from the filing: document libraries, sites, lists. This page is about Teams as a place of work — the files that go back and forth in channels and chats every day and often never get filed. Both run via your Microsoft account. Which parts you want to connect, we define together before we start.
New channels are added all the time here. Do we have to report each one?
The selection refers to the teams and channels defined during setup; new and changed files within them come in automatically via the sync. A new team or a new private channel is not necessarily covered by the existing selection. Whether new channels of a selected team should be included automatically, we discuss during setup.
There are payslips in the management channel. Will everyone see them?
The plan is that permissions in junova depend on document types and roles, not on membership of a channel. Payroll records, contracts or HR matters can thus be reserved for a smaller group, even if they have ended up in a general channel. A channel that should not be read at all, you simply do not select. Your memberships and sharing settings in Teams remain untouched; which roles you need, we define together before we start.
