Documents from NEVARISbill of quantities, measurement and daily site report, with the source.

The plan is for bills of quantities, variations, measurements and quantity sheets, daily site reports and correspondence from NEVARIS to come into your knowledge base — available on site just as in the office. Nothing is changed in NEVARIS; the plan is read-only access.

Connection

How the connection is designed

Project documents usually sit as files in a directory on your server. The plan is to mirror this directory to your own instance, encrypted — read-only and over outbound connections only. Project, construction project and customer master data can come along via an export, so that answers can be matched to the right construction project. Whether and how this works for you, we check with you before we start — depending on version, filing and licence; until then you upload documents, including whole folders, emails, photos and voice memos.

Once set up, synchronisation runs automatically: new and changed documents from NEVARIS are added by themselves, without anyone having to upload anything.

Set-upWe estimate the effort as soon as we know your filing, and discuss it with you before anything is set up — ideally together with your NEVARIS support partner. Billed by effort.

Documents

Which documents may be stored in NEVARIS

  • Bills of quantities and tender documents, also as data files under ÖNORM A 2063 (the Austrian standard for exchanging tender data), including the price build-up with the K-sheets under ÖNORM B 2061
  • Variations, additional quotes and claims for additional costs, with the related correspondence with the site supervision
  • Quantity sheets and billing for the construction project: interim invoices, time-and-materials invoices and the final invoice
  • Daily site reports and daywork sheets — weather, crew, equipment and what actually happened that day
  • Construction contracts under ÖNORM B 2110, award reports and the contracts with subcontractors
  • Drawings and drawing lists in the revisions that applied on site, plus site photos and acceptance reports

Start

Before a connection is set up

A connection is set up for you, not activated in one click. Every source comes with its own logins, permissions and folder logic — whether and how it can be connected at your company, we check together beforehand. Set-up and maintenance are billed by effort; how much that is depends on the source and is discussed beforehand.

Until then, and independently of it, you can upload files, whole folders, emails, photos and voice memos. Before we start, we go through real questions with you to see how the answers look.

Preliminary check

What we check in advance

Beforehand we look at what you have filed as documents and what exists only in the costing model. The plan is for an answer to quote the price from the K-sheet; nothing is recalculated, changed in the average wage rate or written back into the measurement. For items that exist only in the NEVARIS database, we clarify an export — as a data file under ÖNORM A 2063 or as PDF, and including the long texts, because a data file without them answers little later on. For drawings, we check whether PDFs are filed alongside the CAD files, because it is the PDFs that are searched.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about this connection

Some of our completed construction projects are still in the filing of the previous program. Do they come across?

That depends on whether they exist as files — which program a PDF comes from makes no difference to the sync. The plan is that a second directory can be included, also from an old server or an external drive; bill of quantities files, correspondence and billing from back then then sit next to the NEVARIS projects in the same collection. This is intended above all for warranty questions years later: people ask about the 2016 construction project, not about the program it was billed with.

Our project folder contains three revisions of the same drawing. Which one appears in the answer?

The plan is for the system to read the revision index and date from the title block, provided they are there. Because every answer names the source, you can see which drawing a statement comes from; if two revisions contradict each other, this is meant to be pointed out, not smoothed over. You decide which revision is approved for construction — nothing is written back into the drawing list. In a demo, we show you how this looks with your drawing revisions.

We are switching to a new NEVARIS version. Do we have to stop anything beforehand?

No stop is planned for this: only the project directory is read, and nothing is written there from our side. What matters is whether the path to the project directory is the same after the switch; let us know, and we will look at the first run afterwards. Nothing is changed in NEVARIS itself, neither before nor after.

The site foreman should see the bill of quantities and daily site report, but not the variation costing. Is that possible?

The plan is to do this via document types and roles: bill of quantities, drawing, daily site report and daywork sheet in the role for site management and foreman; K-sheets, average wage rate calculation and variation costing with the estimating team. What counts is the confirmed document type — visibility depends on that, not on the individual file. If a role lacks the permission, the system says so. On request, a draft is created from what was found, for instance a variation letter in Word including the quoted passages — nothing from it is sent automatically.
